Dielectric High-Reflectance Mirror
Mirrors
A dielectric-coated mirror for laser or broadband reflection, quoted from wavelength, AOI, reflectance and damage threshold.
Typical values
| Parameter | Reference |
|---|---|
| Material | UV fused silica; glass by review |
| Reference reflectance | >99% at design wavelength |
| Reference transmission | <1% at design wavelength |
| Surface quality | High-precision polish; per drawing |
| Parallelism | <5 arcmin |
| Dimensions | To drawing |
| Coating | Dielectric HR; wavelength and AOI per drawing |
Use this table to understand what is routine, what is reviewed against a drawing and where the project needs a different route.
| Parameter | Standard | By drawing review | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coating type | Dielectric HR | Broadband UV, laser-line, ultrafast | — |
| Reflectance | >99% at design wavelength | >99.9% by design review | — |
| AOI | 0° or 45°; per drawing | Custom angles | — |
| LIDT | By drawing review | Pulse-duration dependent | — |
| Substrate | UVFS / glass | Other optical materials | — |
Dielectric mirrors achieve high reflectance over a designed band. The coating is sensitive to wavelength, AOI and polarization, so the curve must be reviewed with the optical layout. Specify whether the mirror is used at normal or 45° incidence and whether laser damage is a requirement.
